I LOVED IT.

I am probably one of those people who are trying to find good points, not searching for bad. Or I just have low standards…

….wait, no, I don’t have low standards. Because The Legend of Korra as well as The last airbender are really one of the best animated tv shows I know.

*not spoiler free, don’t read it if you haven’t seen anything*

I’ve seen all this hate yesterday on my dashboard (Korra was yesterday, at least for me, since I watched it at 6PM), and even though I know people are entitled for their own opinions and it’s okay to want to change some things in the show, all those absolutely negative comments just keep upsetting me.

….especially when people said like Oh, Tenzin was trying to teach Korra airbending, but got nothing, then like Oh, his family did get captured and why didn’t Korra airbend for Tenzin and did it for Mako and everything was ‘given’ to her.

grr.. here comes the long rant I wanted to write down somewhere. And also you asked for opinions, so here I go.

Thing number one.. Even though Korra couldn’t make any ‘poof of air’, she learnt many things from Tenzin. Most important, Tenzin taught Korra patience.. which, obviously enough, considering Korra’s quick temper was not an easy thing to do. +one step to spiritual side of the Avatar.

Thing number two.. which I kind of hate the most when people say it. *I don’t tell they are wrong, I just..well, disagree* That Korra didn’t learn airbending to save Tenzin and his kids and did it with Mako.

Well, these two cases are actually different. When Amon showed he’s got airbenders, obviously, Korra was terrified. really and really terrified and shocked, because ‘she saw them escaped’..apparently they didn’t. And here she is not making any air and trying to save them, on her own rules, on the ground she’s confident with. Because c’mon, she doesn’t even need airbending ‘that much’ right now. She still has those three elements she’s already mastered.

With Mako.. everything was different. Her bending is taken away, and on this point, she thinks she’s useless. And Amon is right there, SO CLOSE to her love interest. we may not know why exactly Korra loves Mako, but we know she really does.

It’s one thing, when you see that something you’re so afraid of might technically happen (like with Tenzin and his kids), and you are so terrified, but there is an absolutely another thing, when something you fear the most is actually happening. Right in front of you. Because Mako was there, right in Amon’s hands, Amon’s ready to take his bending away, and this is now SO close. And Korra is useless.

and desperate.

and frightened for Mako, and, probably the main thing, she knows if this happens, if Mako’s bending is taken away, she will never forgive herself. Because it’s her duty, to protect Republic City. to protect people she loves. And she failed. she thinks she did, she failed as the Avatar.

And at this point ta daaaaaaa airbending:D

Also, I think one of the parts I loved the most *except for 3 seconds of Bumi that were the best*, was Tarrlok’s story. *also not to mention how hot Amon appeared to be*. 

…though, the end of the sad story was even more sad than the actual story sigh

*a few hours later after I watched it, I was like, Ohhh Korra is able to give people’s bending back, will she give it back to Tarrlok? I wonder. and then I am like..oh..wait..;_______;*

and.. I guess I should say something for Bolin, the comic relief brother, haha.. Don’t we forget, that it actually is a kids show. Big HA HA, but yeah..  I think Bolin is also there for those children who watch the show.. Because we have bloodbending, we have a murder (or wasn’t it what Amon did to Lieutenant?:C *damn I almost cried poor baby* Because there was really no point for Amon to leave him alive.. he knows he’s a bender, even more, a bloodbender, he knows Amon LIED all along. And he can tell it to his other ‘fellow equalists’..damn that was sad), ah, and don’t we forget, ta-dah, we have a suicideee omygodhowNICE

so I think Bolin is there to kind of mitigate all the shit happening with his jokes, for children.. hopefully though, we will see more character development in the 2d season.

…yes, I guess I am glad Bolin is there to make it easier for me because otherwise I would just freaking cry all along I am sensitive what do you want of me omy feelings I feel feelings again damn sadh

I also read pretty many people were disappointed with how Korra finally ‘connected’ with her spiritual side and all…but, damn, A KIDS SHOW
we could at least get a happy ending!
