This one scene… every time I watch it, I feel myself shaking. Mako’s feelings are literally pooling out of him in these few frames.

It starts off with him trying to defy his own blood running through his system. He is fighting so hard for something he should have no problem controlling. He can’t move. He can’t bend. He can’t save her. He is afraid to look up at Korra, he doesn’t want to see her vulnerable, he doesn’t  want to see Amon winning. When his eyes roll up they are filled with anger and rage, if you touch her I’ll kill you.

But when he finally see’s her his fear is realized… the final shot on his face is so heartbreaking. He feels so helpless, his expression is almost pleading forsomethingto give way. He can’t protect her, all he can do is watch. He is forced to relive the same thing that happened to his parents. 

THIS HAD TO BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST MOMENTS FOR MAKO AND EVERYONE SEEMED TO MISS IT. ”I realized…”BOOM!! THIS FACE RIGHT HERE.

Do you see his face before he says “I love you.”?? He feels terrible and he feels guilty. Terrible because it took him so long to realize it, guilt because he pulled so many people down with him. He was confused, he didn’t mean to hurt them as much as he did. He was wrong and he regrets his actions, this face proves it. He understands he has to go on damage control but first he needs to confess to Korra and make sure his feelings are heard.Pleasepeople, acknowledge this scene!!!

Mako always knew Korra was the Avatar and she had a responsibility to this world but this scene when he sees her at her full potential and what she is truly capable of, he is in awe. But at the end she is still his Korra, the stubborn free willed girl that drove him crazy, the girl that he would care for and love as long as he lived. He would be at her side till the end, even if she didn’t return his affection. I mean Mako probably ran all the way, through the arctic, to get to her. 

This scene… I have no words for how much I loved this scene. Following right after the last one Mako has the same look on his face; love, amazement, caring, and he is so proud of her. But then she says, “I love you too.” He melts. He completely melts. He loves her so much. There is no doubt in his mind who he wants to spend the rest of his life with and he understands how lucky he is. 

Words don’t need to explain these scenes, look at the expressions and artwork. I mean READ the expressions. Im sorry if you need actual words to be satisfied but Mike and Bryan are doing what they do best, explaining their already well written story with their gorgeous artwork and music. So when you are about to criticize the writing, take a step back and STOP.
